If you’re an Amazon FBA seller, then you know that inventory reimbursements are a necessary part of the process. Unfortunately, many sellers don’t understand how to get reimbursed for damaged or missing inventory.

How does Amazon FBA inventory reimbursement work?

When it comes to Amazon FBA, there are a few different types of inventory that can be reimbursed. 

  • The first is damaged goods. If you have products that were damaged in transit or while in Amazon’s fulfillment centers, you may be eligible for reimbursement. You’ll need to contact Amazon and let them know about the situation to start the process. They’ll then work with you to determine if you’re eligible for reimbursement and, if so, how much you’ll be reimbursed.
  • The second type of inventory that can be reimbursed is missed shipments. If you have products that were supposed to be included in an inbound shipment but were never received, you may be eligible for reimbursement.
  • The last type of inventory that can be reimbursed is overages. If you have products that were supposed to be included in an outbound shipment but were never received, you may be eligible for reimbursement.
